An exceptional 14-year-old girl named Kate Ene David has outperformed 11,000 contestants to win a spelling bee competition in her home country – Nigeria.

Kate Ene David represented Intimacy with Christ International School, Nigeria at the 2022 MTN Spelling Bee competition. She defeated 11,000 other student representatives of various schools across the country to clinch the gold prize.
As part of the reward for her exceptional performance, Kate Ene David was appointed as a one-day Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Nigeria Telecommunications company. She was also awarded a N2.5 million scholarship, a laptop, a smartphone, and an MTN goody bag.
MTN who sponsored the competition also awarded her English teacher a N350,000 grant as well as donate state-of-the-art ICT devices to her school.

The competition highlighted 20 top contestants including Divine Capable Agbo, Rejoice Okechukwu and Ann Daniel who are the first, second and third runner-up respectively. They were awarded scholarship awards prizes worth over N5.7 million, Thisdaylive reported.
