AMERICA | Chase Matthews, a 17-year-old high school senior from Westlake High School in South Fulton County, Georgia, has achieved an extraordinary milestone in the United States.
She received acceptance letters from 155 universities across all 50 states and secured a total of $6 million in scholarships, making her one of the most highly awarded high school seniors in Georgia’s history.
Among the prestigious institutions that offered her admission are Florida A&M University, Howard University, Ohio State University, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
With so many opportunities before her, Matthews is carefully considering her options and is expected to receive a full-ride scholarship at her chosen university.

Matthews attributed her success to hard work, determination, and the unwavering support of her mentors. The Principal of Westlake High school, Gregory Minnis, praised her achievements, describing her as a true example of excellence.
Beyond academics, Matthews has a clear vision for her future. She aspires to become a pharmacist and establish both mobile and brick-and-mortar pharmacies to address healthcare disparities in Black and low-income communities in Atlanta.
“I aspire to become a pharmacist and open a chain of mobile and brick-and-mortar pharmacies,” Matthews said.
“It’s all for my grandparents and parents. I’ve seen their struggles with affording medicine and accessing healthcare. I want to fix that problem in Black and low-income communities,” she added.
In another story, At 13 years old, Joshua Suddith made history by securing admission to Morehouse College in Atlanta, breaking the record set by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who enrolled at the institution at the age of 15.
Joshua’s journey to setting a record began at the age of 4when he first learned about Martin Luther King’s academic achievement. Inspired by the civil rights leader, he set a personal goal to break that record.
