18-year-old Aiyana Travis has achieved an impressive academic milestone after graduating from high school with an outstanding 4.30 GPA and securing a full university scholarship for her undergraduate studies.
Aiyana’s story stands as an inspiring example of dedication, discipline, and the rewards that come from consistent hard work and determination.
Aiyana's Story and How She Did It
Aiyana completed her secondary education at Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS), a prestigious institution in Mobile, Alabama known for its rigorous academic program.
She began her studies there in 2016 and graduated in April 2021 with an advanced diploma. During her time at ASMS, she took part in advanced science coursework and research projects, including Cytochrome C comparison research in biology.
Despite the academic pressure that comes with such demanding programs, Aiyana maintained excellent performance throughout her studies, eventually graduating with a remarkable GPA of 4.30.

Her exceptional results earned her a full scholarship to University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she also gained admission into the institution’s Honors College. In addition, she received early graduate school acceptance opportunities, further highlighting her academic promise.
Reflecting on her success, Aiyana expressed gratitude to God and to everyone who supported her journey, describing her graduation not as an ending, but the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
Currently, she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she continues to excel academically, maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA.
