A brilliant 19-year-old girl, Rachel Klammer has graduated from both High School and University in the same month after an incredible run of both her Diploma program and Bachelor’s degree simultaneously.
Rachel Klammer attended the Academic and Career Education Academy, Midland in the United States which allowed students to earn Bachelor’s degrees while they worked toward earning a high school diploma through a program.
She began taking college classes at the age of 14 after enrolling in a program called the Paris Academy of Co-Secondary Education also known as PACE.
“It feels great that I’m done with undergrad. It’s kind of like I’ve just added four years to my life because all of my other friends are just starting college and I’m already starting my masters,” she said.

PACE is a dual enrollment program that allows students of any age to attend college or career-technical/CTE classes. Students can attend full or part-time, in some cases tuition-free, completing classes that fulfill the requirements of both the high school diploma and college degree.
Rachel said she attended the program tuition-free as the academy makes it possible for them to use state per-pupil funding to cover college and high school costs. She stated that her drive to attend college early began in middle school.
“I didn’t think I was intellectually challenged in middle school, so I thought I was wasting my time. My mom said ‘Hey, how about this?’ and I said I would give it a try,” she said.
Rachel mentioned that she had to take one online class through the PACE program and every other class she took was at different universities and they had to get rides from family members to the campuses.
Rachel’s mother, Lynn Klammer said she is happy for her daughter’s success and also for removing a huge debt from her plans since she graduated from both programs debt-free.
“It’s just incredible, the burden on families, first of all, and then the burden on students who have to worry about paying off all of that money before they could earn enough money to pay it back,” Lynn said.
Though she spent the majority of her high school years on a college campus, Rachel said it did not stop her from hanging out with her friends, going to the prom, or being involved with other activities for her age.
Rachel has now been accepted into a master’s program at Central Michigan University, United States which will be fully funded by the university. She was also given a teaching assistant position.
