Bernadelle’s journey is not just a story of academic brilliance but one of grit, discipline, and consistency that has inspired many. Her remarable achievement also made her the first in her family to earn the degree.

Bernadelle Story and How She Did It

Bernadelle’s academic journey began after graduating from Frederick Douglass Academy, where she earned a full-ride scholarship to study at Boston University.

”So proud to announce that I have graduated from the Top 10 Biomedical Engineering Program in the country, on a full ride! Balancing the rigors of both the engineering and pre-med curriculum as a first-generation college student has been my biggest challenge yet, but to God be the glory,” she said.

Her hard work paid off, as she not only graduated at the young age of 20 but also joined the 5.6% of Black Biomedical Engineers in the United States.

Beyond the classroom, Bernadelle gained practical experience as a Bioanalytics Intern at Sanofi Pharmaceuticals in 2023, where she worked with the company’s bioassay and molecular analytical teams.

This hands-on experience helped her strengthen her passion for healthcare and research, further preparing her for the next stage of her journey.

As a reward for her stellar academic record and commitment to excellence, Bernadelle secured yet another full-ride scholarship, this time to medical school.

She is now headed to the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University after being awarded the prestigious Turner Fellowship, which will fund her medical studies.

Bernadelle expressed her gratitude to God, her mentors, and her support system for helping her stay consistent.

With medical school ahead of her, she looks forward to using her engineering background and medical training to make a lasting impact in the healthcare sector.
