The Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) legislative internship is implementing a 10-week long fulltime internship programme with support from the European Union (EU).

For all PLAC Legislative Internship participants, stipends to cover transportation and lunch costs within Abuja will be provided.

Policy and Advocacy Centre (PLAC) Legislative Internship Details:

Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) is a Nigerian independent, non-profit and non-partisan civil society organisation that works to strengthen democratic governance, citizens’ participation and engagement with public institutions in Nigeria.

The PLAC Legislative Internship program is for young Nigerians who wish to gain knowledge of legislative practices and processes.

PLAC advocates for legal and policy reforms, and promotes transparency and accountability in policy and decision-making processes by enhancing citizens access to the government.

PLAC Legislative Internship 2026 Requirements:

To be considered for this internship, you must:

  • Be Nigerian citizen between 21 and 35 years of age
  • Have at least a first degree in any discipline from a Tertiary Institution 
  • Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Programme 
  • Have good English writing and speaking skills
  • Have good computer skills
  • Show excellent interpersonal skills

Duration and Reward for PLAC Legislative Internship 2026

Duration of Internship: 
May 2026 – July 2026 (3 Months)

Rewards:

  • Stipends to cover transportation and lunch costs within Abuja will be provided by PLAC.
  • Other logistics expenses will be borne by the intern. 

It is advised that prospective interns be able to reside within Abuja or bear the cost of residing in Abuja throughout the duration of the internship as PLAC will not provide accommodation

How To Apply for PLAC Legislative Internship Program 2026

To apply for the PLAC Legislative Internship Program, interested and qualified candidates should follow the steps below:

  • Proceed to the application form and upload your CV (in Microsoft Word or PDF format), saved in your name. Your CV must include your State of origin, date of birth, and NYSC service details (place of service).
  • Include a “Statement of Purpose” on the last page of your CV, explaining why you wish to participate in the internship.
  • Your CV should not exceed two (2) pages, and the Statement of Purpose should be no more than 300 words; both must be combined and uploaded as a single document, with the total length not exceeding three (3) pages.
  • All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM (West Africa Time – WAT), Friday, 10 April 2026.  

Applications received after this deadline, or that do not comply with the stated application requirements, will not be considered.
