Are you a final-year student or recent graduate from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa with a background in social sciences and an interest in policy and development?
Applications are now being accepted from all qualified and interested candidates for the African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) 2026.
The African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) is designed to equip young policy enthusiasts with practical, hands-on knowledge of policy design and implementation, while providing mentorship from seasoned economists and policy experts, as well as opportunities to connect with like-minded scholars across Africa.

Requirements for African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) 2026
To be considered for the African Economic Scholars Program (AESP), you must:
have studied or be studying:
- Economics
- Political Science
Or any related Social Science discipline
- Be Final-year undergraduate students or Recent graduates
- Be from one of the following countries:
- Nigeria
- Ghana
- Kenya
- South Africa
- Have graduated or be on track to graduate with a First Class or Second Class Upper (2:1)
- must not have graduated before 2025

Benefits of African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) 2026
- The program will train the scholars for two months on research, policy making, personal and professional development and an opportunity to publish their capstone project.
- At the end of the training, outstanding scholars may be placed on a 2 months internship with our partner firms (Think Tanks) where they will gain practical insights on policy making and advocacy.
