A young Nigerian man by name, Abdulmalik Oladipupo has fought back successfully after getting over 25 rejections within 7 years of attempting to study in the United States of America (USA).
Abdulmalik who has now been awarded a Fully Funded Scholarship to study at Auburn University, Alabama, United States of America (USA) narrated that he has not only won a scholarship but also won an assistantship position at the University.
Abdulmalik bagged his Bachelor’s Degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management from the Federal University of Agriculture, South-West Nigeria. After completing his degree program in 2016, he applied for several fully-funded scholarships to enrol for a Master’s degree but got over 25 rejections.
Narrating his story on Linkedin, Abdulmalik noted that with each rejection, he gain better insights into the next application and better understanding of the niche he wants to study.

“It was very difficult to manage rejections, but the dream of accomplishment fueled every fightback,” Abdulmalik said.

Upon several rejections, Abdulmalik did not relent in his efforts and opted to gain a lot of experience in his field of study.
He gathered experience by working with several aquacultural companies and after seven years of gathering experience, he finally got a fully-funded scholarship to study for a Master’s Degree and also work as a graduate assistant at Auburn University, Alabama USA.

Abdulmalik hopes to inspire young graduates never to give up in chasing their dreams. “It maybe long, It may tarry, but soon the covenant of the ages shall come to pass,” he said.
