Arkansas Tech University Masters Scholarship in USA Details:
The Arkansas Tech University Scholarship is a fully funded M.S. Assistantship in avian ecology: Long-term Population Trends of Forest Birds in the Ozark and Ouachita National Forests.
The project will investigate how forest bird populations and communities have responded to different forest conditions across several forest types, including pine, hardwood, and mixed pine-hardwood stands.
Potential research questions include:
- Are bird communities becoming more similar across forests or diverging over time?
- Are insectivores, cavity nesters, or forest interior species responding differently to forest management and forest succession?
- How do bird communities change as forest stands age, and do they converge toward mature forest conditions?

Eligibility Requirements for Arkansas Tech University Scholarship in USA
To be considered for the Arkansas Tech University Scholarship in USA, you must:
- meet the admission requirements of the Arkansas Tech University Graduate College, including a B.S. degree in wildlife biology, ecology, biology, natural resources, or a closely related field;
- have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and competitive GRE scores.
- pass a background check, possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record,
- be willing to work long hours under sometimes challenging field conditions.
- Experience identifying birds by sight and sound is highly desirable.
- Preference will be given to applicants with strong quantitative, analytical, and scientific writing skills.
- Experience with R or other statistical software is also desirable, although not required.

- The successful applicant will be supported by a teaching assistantship of $15,000 per year for up to 2.5 years.
- Teaching duties include instructing undergraduate laboratory sections during the spring and fall semesters (typically two labs each semester).
