AFRICA | 24-year-old Black Lady bags bachelors degree at US university, earns full time position on graduation day
24-year-old, Destiney William, a graduate from Jacksonville State University, Alabama in the United States has achieved remarkable success by earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and securing a full-time position at her uncle’s law firm—all on her graduation day.
Destiney’s uncle, Attorney Ryan Williams, the CEO and Founding Partner of RCW Law Firm, shared the news on Facebook. In his post, he celebrated Destiney’s accomplishment and announced her official entry into the family business.
Attorney Williams revealed that he had supported Destiney throughout her academic journey, providing financial assistance and guidance.

“I made her a promise at the beginning of this journey that I would walk with her every step of the way. Beyond the financial support, I gave her, she always knew I was a phone call away,” he wrote.
He mentioned that Destiney had previously interned and worked part-time at his law firm during her studies. On her graduation day, he fulfilled his promise by offering her a full-time position with an official letter and salary at RCW Law Firm.
“That phone call went both ways throughout her journey, she called for advice and I would call and check in and she didn’t make any big decisions without consulting me. Over the years, she has interned at my law firm and worked for me on and off,” Attorney Ryan said.
”Today on her graduation day from college she has her official offer letter and a salary position with RCW LAW. #generationalwealth started with me but it will go deep,” he added.
On her LinkedIn page, Destiney had previously shared her ambition: “I plan to work hard to earn a spot in business at a great company.” With her recent accomplishment, she brought those words to life.
Destiney’s journey included humble beginnings, working as a cashier at Walmart, Dollar General, and Ross Dress for Less, before making her way to success.
She expressed her gratitude to her uncle and excitement for her new role, saying, “I’m honored and very grateful for the opportunity my uncle has given me.”
”I look forward to helping his firm reform the justice system and supporting its mission to build positive relationships between law enforcement and communities,” she added.
She also shared her joy on Instagram, thanking her family and supporters. “I am deeply grateful and blessed for the overwhelming support I received. I extend my sincere appreciation to my support team and for the opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to receive,” she wrote.
