Brilliant 16-year-old African boy graduates high school, becomes a Medical Doctor at 22

A brilliant boy named Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi who graduated from High School at the age of 16 has achieved a remarkable success as he bags a Medine degree at the age of 22.

Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi obtained his bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB;BS) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He graduated at a much younger age than the typical age of 25 or 26 for graduating from medical school.

Kwaku was able to achieve the feat of graduating from the University Of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Medical Sciences at 23 due to his early graduation from high school. Upon finishing high school, he immediately earned admission to study medicine at the university.

While in high school, Kwakwu was an active student both with his studies and extracurricular activities. He was a member of the school’s Butler House and served as the President of the House Fellowship.

Kwaku shared his achievement of becoming a doctor at a young age on his Twitter with beautiful pictures stating that he spent Six years in the course of him earning a medical degree.

”Finally Dr. Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi. Six long years finally over, Thank you, God,” he tweeted. The management of his high school took to Facebook to congratulate him on his achievement and celebrate him for upholding their morals.

”We are proud to call him our own, and his accomplishment is evidence of the excellence and standards of our students. We wish him all the best and hope he continues to represent Prempeh College proudly,” they wrote.


In another story, an exceptional 14-year-old girl from Zimbabwe, Taida Mapara has set an outstanding record as one of the youngest African students ever accepted to university after being admitted to the University of Malawi College of Medicine.

Taida Mapara had outstanding educational progress completing 13 years of the primary and high school program in just 8 years. She progressed to higher education and aced the June 2020 A’ Level Cambridge examinations with 3 As in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Albright Science College in Zimbabwe.

Taida Mapara had ever since she was young dreamed of becoming a medical doctor and following her exceptional academic record, she was accepted to the University of Malawi to earn a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Read more about Taida HERE.
