A brilliant African lady named Chishimba Kasanga who won the prestigious Rhodes Trust Scholarship has earned a master’s degree at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Kasanga, from Zambia, obtained her Master’s degree in Social Science of the Internet at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. She earned the postgraduate degree through the prestigious Rhodes Trust Scholarship, as shared on her Linkedin.
The Rhodes Trust Scholarship is a fully-funded award offering successful candidates a full tuition waiver plus a living stipend of £18,180 per annum during their period of study in the UK.

The Master of Social Science is the second master’s degree Kasanga is earning. She bagged her bachelor’s degree in Mass communication at the University of Zambia, Lusaka Zambia.
After this, she proceeded to Rhodes University, South Africa where she earned her first master’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies. Kasanga stated that her 5-year-old self would not have believed she would graduate from the top university in the world.
Kasanga said the achievement is for her childhood self who trusted in herself and was determined to accomplish her goal.
”If you told 5-year-old Chichi she would one day graduate from the No. 1 ranked university in the World, she wouldn’t have believed you. This win is for that little girl who believed she could, so she did,” she said.
Kasanga expressed her gratitude to the Rhodes Trust for giving her the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She also appreciated Wolfson College, in Oxford University for the academic support.
She said she is thankful for the academic journey with anticipation for a great future. Kasanga mentioned that she is still on the path to achieving her goal of becoming a doctor.
Kasanga is currently studying for a Doctor of Philosophy in Geography and Environment at the same University of Oxford.
