Brilliant African man bags Chemical Engineering degree with honors, celebrates achievement

A brilliant African man named Lesego Inocent has been bagged a Chemical Enfgineering degree with honors at the University of Witswaterand in South Africa.

Lesega is a South African who obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with Cum Laude (honors) grade at the University of Witswateran, South Africa, an achievement he shared on his Linkedin.

”Thrilled to announce the completion of my Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, graduating cum laude,” he said.

He stated that the academic journey went from him enduring the pressure of academics to experiencing the highs and lows of research adding that each of the moments has been a lesson in resilience and growth.

Lesego mentioned that during the journey, he encountered his first failure at the university in his second year when he got 30% in one of his courses, Process Engineering Fundamental.

Due to this situation, he decided that he would never allow himself to fail again. However, unfortunately, he still experienced many more failures in his third year.

He stated that in his third year, he faced another setback when he got 11% on one of his semester tests recalling that he emailed one of his lecturers asking if the 25% on the portal was not a mistake thinking that he swapped 2 and 5,

Lesengo said his final year brought more challenges as he had lots of tasks and responsibilities. He stated that he was particularly challenged by his design “A co-gasification (coal and methane) and polygeneration facility” and his research on “Gas Phase extraction of vanadium using organic solvents in a fluidized bed reactor.”

He stated that despite the demanding nature of the project, he was determined to overcome obstacles and achieve milestones noting that through these challenges, he realized that failure is an important life lesson you grow through failure.

Lesego said he learned that the most important thing is what you do after failing and at that point in his life, he was usually concerned if he does things easily.

He shared a picture he took after failing a test, sitting on a bench, and going back to the drawing board to strategize how he is going to bounce back. Lesego said he went back to the same bench on his graduation day, symbolizing the journey from setbacks to success.

He stated that one of his memorable moments was taking a picture with two of his professors whose guidance and expertise were invaluable throughout his academic journey.

Lesego mentioned that throughout his journey, he found joy in the most challenging moments which also contributed to his growth and development.

He stated that he is grateful for the support of his lecturers, mentors, classmates, and loved ones who stood by him throughout this journey adding that together, they turned challenges into opportunities and setbacks into successes.

Lesego said that as he steps into the next chapter of his journey, he carries with him the lessons learned and the strength gained from every one of his experiences. He added that he is excited about what the future holds and looks forward to impacting the world positively.
