AFRICA | A brilliant African man named Felix Fomengia has earned a master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Forensics from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom, fully funded by the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.
A Cameroon native, Felix began his academic journey at the University of Buea, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering with an impressive academic performance.
Driven by a passion for technology and a desire to make meaningful impact in the field of cybersecurity, Felix set his sights on furthering his education abroad.
His dreams took flight when he was selected for the highly competitive Chevening Scholarship, an award offered by the UK government to outstanding individuals with leadership potential from around the world.

With the scholarship support, Felix relocated to the UK and enrolled in the University of Westminster, where he pursued a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Forensics. Celebrating his graduation on Linkedin, Felix shared how grateful and excited he is to have reached this milestone.
Felix mentioned that through the course, he gained skills in Network Security, Penetration Testing, Cybersecurity Threats and countermeasures, Risk Management, and Cybersecurity Applications.
He also gained skills in the Fundamentals of Security Technology and Cybersecurity Evidence and Procedures. Felix stated that he gained an understanding of the nature of security threats that face computer systems.
He said he also learned the principles underpinning practical approaches to cyber defense in response to a cyber-attack in today’s cyberspace.
Felix said he is excited about what comes next and is ready to work towards promoting cybersecurity culture and safe working computer system environments.
He expressed his gratitude to the Chevening Awards, the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office for the United Kingdom in Cameroon, and the University of Westminster who made his dream possible and offered him a fully funded scholarship.
Felix also thanked his mentors, lecturers, family, friends, and everyone who assisted him throughout the academic journey. He added that he feels so much impact, and he is eager about what the future holds.
