A brilliant boy named Ja’Nayan Manning has won 380,000 dollars worth of scholarships to 14 universities after graduating as top of his class at Tyler Legacy High School, United States.
Ja’Nayan Manning is a Texas teen who graduated from Tyler Legacy High School in the United States with top grades. He was awarded Texas District’s Secondary Student of the Month because of his excellent grades and active participation in school.
Manning was accepted into 14 colleges and universities in the United States and earned a total of $380,000 in scholarship money. He said though there are many options of universities to choose from, he is yet to make a decision on which to attend.
“I haven’t decided yet, I have somewhat of a top five. I’m generally just trying to get the most scholarship money, so wherever I get that is where I’m deciding to go,” he said.

Aside from his academic excellence, Manning was also involved in other activities in his high school. He was part of the student council and also part of the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), an organization that helps fellow Red Raiders with college applications.
“When school came around I was pretty much already done, So we just wanted to help everybody else and some of my peers were the same. We just wanted to help people since we weren’t actually helping ourselves that much,” he said.
Manning’s mother, Jessica Johnson described his achievement as one that is not surprising, saying Manning has always proven to be smart. She also added that his intelligence runs in their family, comparing him with her mother.

“They’ve always told me he’s smart, he’s going to do great things, I mean he’s a hard worker and I’m just blessed, Manning’s mother, Jessica said. “Being a hard worker he reminds me a lot of my mom, She’s my right hand, she reminds me a lot of Ja’Nayan. She’s taught me to go for whatever you want,” she added.
Manning offered his piece of advice to anyone who looks up to him, he said things would not always be easy, but as long as you put in much effort, the work would not be that hard.
“I’m not the smartest, i’m in the top 20, I’m a little ways from top 10, and even valedictorian but even with that though I’ve accomplished a lot in the last classes and last semesters. So it’s possible as long as you put the work in you can do it,” he advised.
