A brilliant Nigerian man named Abdulrazaq Nafiu Abubakar has achieved an exceptional feat as he bagged a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering and a master’s in Electrical Engineering with 98% distinctions. He won different notable awards as the best student.
Abdulrazaq Nafiu Abubakar obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering at the Bayero University Kano, Nigeria with an outstanding 4.90 over a 5.00 cumulative grade point average.
Upon graduation, Abubakar received the 2019 Ahmadu Adamu Muazu prize for the best student with the highest grade point average in the Faculty of Engineering. He also won a foreign scholarship for 370 First Class Kano Graduates to India for his Master’s Degree courtesy of Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation.
He then proceeded to bag his master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Automation) at Sharda University, India. He graduated from the university with a remarkable 9.89 over 10 cumulative grade points average.

Abubakar’s outstanding performance earned him the Sharda University Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal Award and was also awarded the best-graduating student of the 2021 graduating class.
Talking about how he was able to achieve the feat, Abubakar attributed his success to his mentors who motivated and guided him to reach the academic path.“Well, there is nothing much to say on how I emerged as the best student, it is Allah’s will. But I know that I concentrate fully in all of my academic classes, as well as laboratories,” he said.
He further explained that most of his leisure time was used for assignments and research as he is highly interested in Automation and Robotics Engineering. Abubakar said he faced the challenges of accessing research in his field of study because it was a brand new program then.

He stated that studying in India was a great experience that exposed him to various learning opportunities but added that studying in a new environment and in a COVID-19 pandemic era was challenging and difficult to cope with but he was able to pull through.
Abubakar is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia.
