AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian Engineer named Olisaemeka Iwoba has bagged his master’s degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering with distinctions at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in the United Kingdom.
Iwoba began his higher academic journey at Bells University of Technology, Ogun, Nigeria, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2021. He graduated with second-class upper honor.
In addition to earning his undergraduate degree, he was inducted as a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), qualifying him to practice as an engineer in Nigeria.
He proceeded to the United Kingdom where he enrolled for a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In 2024, he graduated from the University of Strathclyde, where he focused on sustainable engineering design and conducted research at the Advanced Materials Research Laboratory for his dissertation.
He shared the achievement on Linkedin expressing his gratitude to his course advisor for helping him realize his commitment to sustainable development through his research. ” My focus was on achieving sustainable engineering design and my dissertation working with Dr Fiona Sillars in the AMRL reflects on my commitment to this,” he said,
Iwoba is passionate about mechanical design, machine efficiency, and sustainability. He hopes to leverage his skills in maintenance, design, and project management to drive innovation in the engineering field.
In another story, a brilliant young man named Otukoya Timothy has bagged a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria with an outstanding 3.92 over 4.00 cumulative grade point and was awarded the best graduating student.
Timothy bagged his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ibadan. He shared his achievement of being inducted into the National Nigerian Society of Engineers on his Linkedin.
He graduated with first-class honors and won the award of the overall best-graduating student in the university’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. Timothy was not just inducted into the Engineering Society, he was inducted as a graduate member. Read more about Timothy HERE.
