A brilliant Nigerian lady named Oluwaseyi Oyebanji graduated from Babcock University, Nigeria with a first-class degree in history.
Oluwaseyi obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in History and International Studies at Babcock University, Nigeria with first-class honors, an achievement she shared on her LinkedIn describing it as God plans against her plans.
”God’s plan > My plan.Exactly a month ago, I officially graduated from Babcock University with a First Class (Hons) degree in B.A. History and International Studies,” she said.
She mentioned that four years ago, she was a fresh high school graduate in the United States with on the idea of attending an Ivy League university, after she won a 100% scholarship offer from Xiamen University in Malaysia.

She said that she did not plan to return to Nigeria talkless of studying her undergraduate studies at a Nigerian University but her academic journey took a different turn.
Oluwaseyi said she is grateful that the plans led her to an undergraduate experience that turned out to be incredibly transformative noting that the academic journey took her three years.
Highlighting her accomplishments as a student both her academics and extracurricular, she said that she served as a member of the Sanitation and Sabbath School departments at Shekinah Glory and Redemption Chapels.
Oluwaseyi said she represented Zambia in the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural (SOCHUM) Committee at the 6th Babcock International Model United Nations Conference (BIMUN), where she refined her teamwork, networking and diplomatic skills while contributing to pressing global discourse.
She also mentioned that she co-organized and led the Welfare Team for the inaugural event of TEDxBabcockU, where she developed her skills in team collaboration, and networking by assisting in coordinating logistics, managing volunteers, and connecting with industry leaders.
She said she led financial management as the Financial Director of the Historien et Diplomat Student Association (HEDSA) for the 2023/2024 session, overseeing budgeting, contingency planning, and fundraising.
Oluwseyi also volunteered as a Graphic Designer for her department, where she created promotional materials for their events including, infographics, digital posters, flyers, and videos that enhanced the department’s publicity efforts.
Despite having a lot at hand, Oluwaseyi managed to attain an 85% (A grade) in her research project which focused on ‘Nigeria-Brazil Relations from 1960-2023’. ”Evidently, God has a plan for me, not of harm, but of good, and a plan that extends beyond my imagination,” she said.
Oluwaseyi said she is super excited for the future and eager to embrace the new opportunities ahead.
