Brilliant Nigerian Lady bags masters degree at UK university, graduates with outstanding distinction

A brilliant Nigerian lady named Sophia Otikpa has bagged a master’s degree with distinctions at the University of Salford in the United Kingdom.

Sophia obtained her master’s degree in Construction Management with outstanding distinction at the University of Salford, England in the United Kingdom, an achievement she shared on her Linkedin.

”I am thrilled to officially announce that I have just graduated with a distinction in Construction Management from the University of Salford!” she said.

She stated that wrapping up her program and receiving the degree was a fulfilling achievement. Sophia stated that her time at the university has been a journey of growth, learning, and unforgettable experiences,which she is proud to have accomplished.

Highlighting her experience and journey at the University of Salford, Sophia said she was able to combine her expertise in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. She said her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, which she earned at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria. 

Sophia said the bachelors degree laid a strong foundation for her master’s studies in Construction Management adding that combination equipped her with a comprehensive skill set and a deep knowledge base.

She mentioned that she worked as a trainee Assistant Site Manager via Women in construction, where she gained hands-on experience in project planning, cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, site inspections, and quality control.

Sophia stated that throughout her studies and work experience, she was committed to promoting construction management practices that prioritize customer satisfaction and the health and safety of construction workers.

She added that her efforts improved construction standards and reduced wastage, which followed the United Kingdom’s National House Building Council (NHBC)standards.

Sophia further stated that her distinction in Construction Management reflects not only her academic achievements but also the practical skills and knowledge she developed. She said with all her projects, she honed her ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively.

She concluded by stating that one valuable lesson she learned at the university is the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. Sophia said the approach prepared her  to tackle real-world challenges in the construction industry with confidence and expertise.

Sophia expressed her gratitude to her friends, family, and lecturers who supported her throughout the journey. She added that their encouragement and guidance were invaluable, and she could not have earned the achievement without them.
