A brilliant Nigerian lady named Ajadi Sofiat has achieved outstanding success after earning a 4.76/5.00 Grade Point to win the best-graduating student award at the Lagos State University (LASU), Nigeria.
Sofiat bagged her degree in Economics at the Lagos State University College of Medicine in Nigeria with an outstanding first-class grade, She scored the highest grade point in her faculty earning her the best-graduating student of the university’s Faculty of Social Science.
Sharing her achievements, Sofiat said she is glad to have experienced the thrill of being number one. She said her success was spurred on by self-aspiration, determination, and the ability to overcome challenges and make the most of them.
”Yes! I emerged as the best graduating student of the Faculty of Social Sciences with over 800 students and the Department of Economics with a CGPA of 4.76 at the Lagos State University 27th Convocation Ceremony, which was held last week on Wednesday, June 5, 2024,” she said.

Sofiat said she is excelling not only as a first-class graduate but as an individual who has intentionally developed herself throughout her four years at the university by actively participating in extracurricular activities.
She said she held different challenging and notable positions but the most challenging was being the Head of a Class of over 280 students and being an Executive Tutor and Faculty Coordinator (Faculty of Social Sciences) of the Excelminds Academic Group,
She said the group is well known for driving over 15,000 students at Lagos State University through free tutorials, ensuring easy access to study materials, and developing its members’ potential.
Sofiat said in her quest to give back to society, she joined the Rotaract Club of Lagos State University, where she was actively engaged in community development projects, child mortality, and health programs, and environmental sustainability projects.
She expressed her gratitude to her parents, families, and friends, whose financial, emotional, and moral support and encouragement were pivotal to her achievement. Sofiat also thanked her lecturers and other individuals who supported her.
Advising other ambitious, world-class students like she is, Sofiat urged them to allow their goals to continually drive them. She encouraged them to set defined targets for themselves, work towards them consistently, and strive hard to improve every semester.
Sofiat said she is currently engaged in courses on data analysis and preparing to write professional examinations. She added that she is also interested in financial, business, and investment analysis, and would like to pursue a career path in those areas
