A brilliant Nigerian Lawyer named Tijani Ololade has won two full-ride scholarships to study her master’s in Energy Law at the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom.
Tijani Ololade won the Commonwealth Scholarship and the Steve Weston Trust Scholarship to study for her master’s in International Energy Law and Policy in the United Kingdom. She bagged her bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria.
After she graduated from OAU, Lolade proceeded to Nigerian Law School where she graduated with first-class honors and was inducted as a barrister and solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
She shared her achievement of winning the scholarship on her LinkedIn stating that it is the result of her four years of dedicated effort. Lolade said she applied for scholarships for four years with more than forty funding applications.

Lolade said she started with her application in 2019 following a year of practice at one of Nigeria’s leading energy, oil, and gas law firms, Aluko & Oyebode where she decided to specialize in energy law practice and policy.
She mentioned that she began applying to Top international law schools for her postgraduate degree and gained admission to outstanding schools, including New York University, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown, University of Berkeley, University of Aberdeen, and University of Groningen.
However, she could not enroll in any of the institutions despite their outstanding energy law programs because of financial challenges.

Lolade said she even received a 60% tuition scholarship and secured a loan to attend George Washington University but unfortunately, her visa application was denied. Despite the challenges she faces, Lolade said she persevered and remained determined with a positive mindset.
Her perseverance and unwavering determination paid off as she was awarded the two full-tuition scholarships for her master’s in International Energy Law and Policy (LL.M) by the Commonwealth and the Steve Weston Trust Scholarship.
Lolade said the opportunity will make her delve deeper into the complex legal and policy aspects of the global energy landscape. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported him during the process of the application
