A brilliant Nigerian Man named Oluwafemi Osokoya has bagged a Master’s Degree in Computing Systems from Nottingham University, the United Kingdom with three Distinctions.
Oluwafemi Osokoya graduated with an outstanding second-class upper Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Ibadan, South-West, Nigeria before proceeding to Nottingham University for his master’s degree.
Celebrating his feat, Oluwafemi took to his Linkedin page to announce his success in earning distinctions in the technology course despite not having a background knowledge of the course.
”I am thrilled to announce that I have earned a triple distinction in my journey from Psychology to Tech,” he wrote.
He stated that he had always been interested in taking a technology course but being a psychology graduate he was discouraged and decided to further his studies in his line of science by applying for a master’s degree in Nigeria.
However, the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown halted the Masters course. Rather than relenting Oluwafemi turned the disappointment into an opportunity, which enabled him to enroll in an online master’s course at Nottingham University.
Oluwafemi said his application was accepted and he earned an award for his academic achievement as an undergraduate. ”Fortunately, the Covid-19 lockdown brought my studies to a halt, but rather than be discouraged, I saw this as an opportunity to try something new,” Oluwafemi said.

”So I took a leap of faith and applied for a master’s in Computing Systems at Nottingham Trent University. I was accepted and even awarded the NTU HIGH Achievers Award for my undergraduate achievements,” he added.
Due to the Pandemic, Oluwafemi said he held most of his classes online. He added that he embraced the online classes as an opportunity as he was able to rewatch recorded lectures and have adequate time to prepare before each class.
Oluwafemi said the online classes benefited him and he was able to earn a distinction in his first graded module. He stated that the first distinction motivated him more to pull through his classes no matter the challenges.
”This boosted my morale and motivated me to give my all. I built up resilience and was able to overcome most of the challenges that came my way,” he said.
Oluwafemi said another of his achievement in the United Kingdom was securing a one-year placement at the ‘Skipton Building Society’, which qualified him for a Placement Diploma in Professional Practice.
He added that the placement afforded him invaluable hands-on experience in the technology industry and allowed him to meet some truly exceptional individuals. Upon finishing his master’s, Olaleye earned distinctions in my Masters of Science dissertation, Masters of Science degree, and his Placement Diploma in Professional Practice.
Oluwafemi said he is eager to continue his career in Technology and watch where his passion for psychology and technology will take him next.
