Brilliant Woman bags Criminal Justice degree at US university, graduates with outstanding 4.00GPA

A brilliant woman named Romancia Jordon has bagged a Criminal Justice degree with a 4.00 grade point at Ashworth College, Georgia in the United States.

Romancia is a police officer from St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Carribeans bagged her BSC with an outstanding summa cum laude grade (Highest Distinction) despite working full time. 

She also holds a Diploma in Forensic Science with Honors from the same college according to a release from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force. Romancia’s course of study included eight semesters which included five (5) courses each.

The studies were conducted online while fulfilling her duties as a Police Officer attached to the Sexual Offences Unit. Romancia stated that earning the degree is a fulfillment of a dream for her.

“It has always been a dream of mine to pursue a degree of higher learning as personal development is very important to me and I have always been fascinated by the criminal justice system,” she said.

Romancia said as a police officer understanding the multiple interrelated pillars of the Criminal Justice System is very important because it will equip her with the relevant knowledge and techniques that will be utilized throughout her career as a police.

”The Criminal Justice System is very important because it will equip me with the relevant knowledge and techniques that will be utilized throughout my policing career which is an asset to the police force, the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and the criminal justice system on a whole,” she said.

Romancia stated that the academic journey was not an easy one as she had to balance school, work, and personal life all at the same time. Still, she was able to persevere through her determination and prayers. 

“This journey was not an easy one. It was one of the most difficult things I had to do; balancing school, work, and personal life simultaneously was very challenging,” Romancia said.

”Nevertheless, through prayers and determination, I persevered. As Colin Powell says: “A dream doesn’t become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work,” she added.

She expressed her gratitude to her family especially her mother, friends, and colleagues for supporting her with encouraging words and advice that motivated her to persevere till the end of the degree.

Romancia also thanked the Island Scholars Inc., the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines, the Commissioner of Police, and the entire police force for their support.
