Despite facing financial hardships, a young man named Sunday Augustine has defied the odds to bag a Microbiology degree with first-class at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He was also awarded the best-graduating student of his department.
Sunday is a Nigerian who said he faced financial challenges after his father died untimely at the young age of 14. Nevertheless, he was able to overcome his challenges and achieve academic excellence.
He graduated with a first-class bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and was the best-graduating student of the Federal University of Technology, Department of Microbiology. Sunday said he made history as the first person from his town to achieve the feat.
Sunday mentioned that his academic journey is a testament to resilience and determination in the face of challenges. He said he was faced with serious financial constraints while a student noting that there were times he stayed without food but he was able to overcome them.

Sunday stated that he wants his story to serve as a beacon of hope to all those who dare to dream, to never lose sight of the light that burns within them, for it is the very spark that ignites the flames of greatness.
In another story, a brilliant Nigerian man named Adegboyega Kolade won the award of the overall best-graduating student at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria after he bagged a Linguistics degree with a first-class.
Kolade obtained his bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with first-class honors at Olabisi Onabanjo University. He won the award of the Overall Best Graduating Student in the university’s Faculty of Arts and Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages. Read more about Kolade HERE.
