A brilliant young physician named Hannah Lisa has achieved an exceptional milestone, earning a Master of Laws (LLM) in Health Law from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom, despite her background in Medicine.
Her accomplishment is especially remarkable because transitioning from clinical medicine to law and excelling, is a rare academic path.
Dr. Hannah's Story and How She Did It
Hannah’s journey began in Ghana, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), qualifying as a medical doctor.
Driven by a passion for leadership in healthcare systems, she furthered her education in 2019 at the University of Ghana, where she obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Management.
Balancing rigorous academics with professional responsibilities was no small feat. Reflecting on that period, she shared how she prayed for “48 hours in a day” to manage her responsibilities, yet completed her MBA with an impressive 3.73 GPA.
Her growing portfolio in healthcare leadership, digital health advocacy, and humanitarian work strengthened her global profile.
In 2024, she won the highly competitive Commonwealth Scholarship Commission award, a fully funded scholarship sponsored by the UK government.

Through this opportunity, she enrolled at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine to pursue a Master of Laws (LLM) in Health Law, merging her medical expertise with legal knowledge in global health systems.
Sharing her success on social media, Hannah expressed deep gratitude and pride, declaring herself the first in her bloodline to become a medical doctor and also earn a Master’s degree in Law.
She paid tribute to her mother for instilling confidence, faith, and belief in her dreams: “For being supportive and bringing me up in the confidence to believe in my dreams and that I am worthy of every good deed that comes my way, I celebrate my mother.”
