Exceptional 13-year-old boy graduates US university with 4 degrees in just two years, sets record

An exceptional 13-year-old  boy named Jack Rico has achieved the remarkable feat of graduating from Fullerton College in the United States with four degrees in just two years, setting a new record as the university’s youngest graduate.

Jack Rico bagged four associate’s degrees within just two years at Fullerton College, Califonia in the United States. He also made history as the youngest student to achieve that feat in the school’s 107-year-old history as reported by CNN.

Jack earned his associate degrees in history, human expression, social behavior, and social science and maintained a 4.0 GPA all through. “I just love learning new stuff, I love knowing more about the world and all the different things we could study,” he said.

The President of Fullerton College, Greg Schulz said despite the community college having about 21,000 other students from various backgrounds and walks of life, Jack always stands out from the crowd.

Jack’s mother, Ru Andrade, said she knew her son was special ever since he was younger. She said when he was about to turn four, she asked him what he wanted for his birthday.

Andrade said while other boys his age might have asked for toys or a trip to Disneyland, Jack said he wanted to see the White House. “I told him that was a really big trip for a three-year-old, Just kidding around, I said, ‘If you can memorize all the presidents, I’ll take you,”  Andrade said.

She said Jack came a week later with confidence. ‘‘I already knew the presidents, but I memorized all the vice presidents so that we could go. So that’s when I knew, ‘Oh, you’re already smarter than me,” she added.

Jack was home-schooled before attending Fullerton College and his first official graduation was his college but he could not attend because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jack received a full-ride scholarship to continue studying history at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the United States. He said though he has a lot of achievements attached to him, he still considers himself as a 13-year-old.

“I’m 13 right now so I don’t really have the whole life thing figured out,  I’m still trying to explore my interests and learn what I want to do in life,” he said.
