Joshua wrote that: “With immense gratitude, I am excited to share that I have accepted an offer for MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Bradford. Also, I have been selected for Chevening Awards by the UK government.
Six years ago, I followed my passion for social change and positive youth development after graduating from the University of Lagos with a bachelors in Cell Biology and Genetics.
My dream for holistic youth engagement started Nigeria Youth SDGs Network in 2017. In fact, I had to quit my job at a multinational in 2019 because I wanted to contribute more towards nation building. Working with young people across Nigeria over the last four years and seeing the myriad challenges they have to overcome inspired my journey towards a masters degree at Bradford.”
In his post, Joshua also thanked every person who supported and inspired him throughout his application.
He wrote further that; “There have been times I have had to question my existence and wondered if I could ever make any contribution in this world. I have had pains that just very few people know. My life has been hard and this is why I am thankful for my strong faith in Jesus Christ. Waking up to the blessedness of God’s word and remembering that I matter to God has been a strong push for my life.
“I hope that my life would be able to inspire someone to believe in themselves and know that every test you face is making you stronger. I am doing this for my dad, my late mom and late brother, my sisters and their children. I pray that my cousins will dare to dream just like me and achieve the big potential that God has given to them.”
