AFRICA | A brilliant lady named Tega Adaware has achieved remarkable academic success, graduating with a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and going on to earn a Master’s degree with Distinction from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
Tega’s journey is one marked by consistency, excellence, and intentional growth from the very start of her higher education.
Tega's Story and How She Did It
She began her academic path at Babcock University in 2014, enrolling for a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. Throughout her four years at the university, she maintained outstanding academic performance and graduated in 2018 with a First-Class degree.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Tega built a professional career as a Business and Account Executive, gaining over six years of work experience.
In 2024, driven by a desire to deepen her expertise and expand her global exposure, she decided to further her education. That same year, she moved to England and enrolled for an MSc in Marketing Management at the University of Leicester.

Continuing the same standard of excellence she upheld in Nigeria, Tega completed her postgraduate programme in 2025, graduating with a Distinction.
Sharing her achievement on LinkedIn, she described her journey as the result of small, intentional decisions made consistently.
“Before starting my MSc in Marketing at the University of Leicester, I was clear about how I wanted to finish. I believe deeply in planning, writing the vision down, and committing to becoming better every single day,” she said.
She explained that recognising how she thrives best in community played a key role in her success.
About a month into the programme, she created an accountability group with friends, naming it “Study Updates: Distinction Bound”, as a constant reminder of the standard they set for themselves.
The group studied together, reviewed assessments, stayed accountable, and supported one another through challenging moments. By consistency and commitment, their efforts paid off.
Tega also expressed gratitude to her lecturers and mentors, particularly her programme lead, Ning Baines, and her dissertation supervisor and personal tutor, John Cadogan, for their guidance and encouragement throughout the programme.
Reflecting on the experience, she highlighted a principle she plans to carry forward: Clarity + consistency + community = results.
As she steps into the next chapter of her career, Tega says she is open to marketing opportunities where strategy, collaboration, and measurable results matter, building on both her academic training and professional experience.
