Now, she looks forward to starting her public health career and continuing to strive for greater achievements.
Rachelle also shared words of wisdom for students and scholars, reflecting on the importance of persistence and self-belief. ”Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither were you. Whether it’s the life that you want or the kind of person you wish to become – build it,” she said.
She emphasized the need to overcome imposter syndrome, especially for those who are first-generation achievers like her.
”Whether you have barriers, systems & odds stacked against you – believe in yourself til the end. When you are in rooms, spaces, or even chapels where you don’t feel comfortable speaking up – advocate for yourself and others,” Rachelle said.
Rachelle expressed gratitude for her support system, acknowledging the encouragement she received throughout her journey. As she embarks on this new chapter, she said she is ready to make a meaningful impact in the field of public health.
