Fiyinfoluwa’s journey through dental school was challenging but also transformative, teaching her resilience, discipline, and the importance of trusting God throughout difficult seasons.
She admitted there were moments of self-doubt, pressure, and uncertainty during the programme. However, she refused to allow those moments define her journey.
Instead, she relied on prayer, strategic planning, persistence, and disciplined routines to keep moving forward.
Fiyinfoluwa explained that one of the greatest factors behind her academic success was consistency. Rather than waiting until examination periods before studying, she developed the habit of reading every day regardless of how stressful the day had been.
She participated actively in group discussions, practised past examination questions consistently, and used educational YouTube videos to simplify difficult topics taught in class.
According to her, maintaining a steady daily reading culture over the years played a major role in helping her sustain academic excellence throughout the programme.
Beyond academics, Fiyinfoluwa also balanced entrepreneurship, leadership, and community impact alongside the demanding workload of dental school.
She managed a gifting business known as Maestro while also leading a non-governmental organization for teenage girls called Eve’s Alabaster.
Her ability to combine academics, entrepreneurship, leadership, and advocacy demonstrated her commitment to making an impact both inside and outside the classroom.
Speaking about the people who contributed to her success, she gave special recognition to her parents, whom she described as her greatest support system throughout the journey.
Fiyinfoluwa stated that their sacrifices, encouragement, prayers, and constant support helped sustain her through the difficult years of dental training.
In the field of Dentistry, Fiyinfoluwa revealed a growing passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a specialized area focused on treating diseases, injuries, and defects affecting the mouth, face, and jaws.
She also expressed strong concern about oral health awareness among young Nigerians, explaining that many people underestimate the connection between oral health and overall body health.
She said untreated oral diseases can contribute to serious health complications, including systemic conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus. Fiyinfoluwa believes increased awareness and education can help reduce preventable dental diseases across Nigeria.
Reflecting on her induction and graduation on Instagram, Fiyinfoluwa celebrated the fulfillment of a dream that began eight years earlier.
She recalled the sleepless nights, sacrifices, examinations, prayers, tears, growth, and moments of perseverance that shaped her journey to becoming the best graduating dental student in her class.
She attributed every achievement and victory throughout the process to God’s grace and thanked everyone who supported, prayed for, and believed in her along the way.
As she begins the next phase of her professional journey, Fiyinfoluwa hopes her story will inspire students facing difficult academic journeys to remain focused and believe in themselves.
