A brilliant young girl named Huda Suleman has emerged as the top overall candidate in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Ghana.
Competing against thousands of students across the country, Huda’s exceptional academic performance has earned her widespread recognition.
Huda's Story and How She Did It
Huda, a student of Legacy Girls College, scored 8 As out of 9 subjects, securing the title of Best Candidate in the General Programme (Arts Option). Her achievements place her among Ghana’s most exceptional students for 2025, drawing admiration nationwide.
“She has shown that dedication, hard work, and focus can produce extraordinary results,” her school remarked.
Beyond recognition, Huda’s brilliance has earned her notable awards. She was celebrated at the WAEC Distinction Awards, an event honoring outstanding academic performance across West Africa.
Among the awards she received were a GHS 30,000 cash prize, a laptop from Zenith Bank, $1,200 from the WAEC Endowment Fund, another laptop from Jay Kay Enterprises, a GHS 10,000 cheque from Brightway Enterprises Limited, and a Commemorative plaque.

Her achievements highlight not only her academic excellence but also her commitment to personal growth.
Following her remarkable performance, Huda has been admitted into Ashesi University, where she is currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics Engineering. She dreams of becoming an Aerospace Engineer, aiming to break barriers in a male-dominated field.
In her own words, Huda encourages other young girls to challenge gender stereotypes and aim high.
“My advice to other female students is that they should not use gender as an excuse for not becoming the best. They can perform just as well as men, and even better. If they put in the necessary effort and persevere, they will achieve their goals and do even more,” she said.
