A brilliant young man, Micheal Okelola, has emerged as the overall best graduating student of the 2024/2025 academic session at Ekiti State University (EKSU), Nigeria.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.90 out of 5.00, placing him at the very top of his class.
Micheal's Story and How He Did It
Micheal’s academic journey began in 2021, and throughout his time at the university, he remained focused and consistent, earning excellent grades semester after semester.
By the time he graduated in 2026, he had distinguished himself as a leading academic performer.
Beyond his academic excellence, Micheal was actively involved in extracurricular activities. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) and is deeply passionate about the growth of the food and agricultural sector in Nigeria and globally.
In addition, Micheal has built a strong profile as an online tutor and digital educator. He is TEFL-certified and specializes in tutoring students in the UK curriculum, including 11+, SATs, KS2, and KS3, covering subjects such as Mathematics, English, and Science.

He also works as a freelance digital professional on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, with expertise in Google SEO and digital marketing. His skill set extends into web development, making him a well-rounded young professional who combines education with technology.
Reflecting on his journey, Micheal shared on Linkedin that the journey was challenging stating that there were moments of doubts and pressure but he persevered.
“This journey was far from easy. There were moments of pressure, uncertainty, and the challenge of balancing academics with personal growth and financial pursuits. At times, it felt overwhelming, but I stayed committed to the process,”he said.
“This achievement is not just about academic excellence, it’s a reflection of resilience, discipline, and the power of consistency,” he added.
He expressed deep gratitude to his lecturers, mentors, friends, and everyone who supported him throughout his journey.
As he moves forward, Micheal remains committed to growth, impact, and using his knowledge to contribute meaningfully to education and the agricultural sector.
