A brilliant Nigerian man named Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga has achieved outstanding academic success, emerging as the overall best graduating student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an exceptional 4.89/5.00 CGPA, placing him at the very top of his class. Oladepo’s journey is a true reflection of excellence, discipline, and consistency.
Oladepo's Story and How He Did It
Oladepo began his academic journey at LAUTECH in 2021. From his first year, he remained focused and committed, consistently ranking among the best students in his class.
Through years of rigorous academic training, he maintained his high performance, and by the end of his program, he graduated as the university’s overall best. However, his path to success was not without challenges.
In a post shared on X, Oladepo revealed that financial support played a crucial role in his journey. He credited the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for providing the assistance he needed to stay in school and complete his degree.
According to him, the loan significantly eased the burden of tuition and upkeep, allowing him to focus on his academics.

He also expressed deep gratitude to the Touch A Life Foundation for their support throughout his academic journey.
Beyond his academic excellence, Oladepo has built an impressive portfolio of technical and leadership experience. He has worked on several innovative engineering projects, including; an IoT-based RFID door lock system, a bluetooth-controlled hydraulic jack, and a smart cradle system.
Also, he developed an iintelligent lighting and sound system for lecture halls, computer vision-based smart intrusion detection system and a fingerprint attendance system proposal.
In addition to his technical work, he has also contributed to the academic community by tutoring students both online and offline, while actively participating in professional bodies such as IEEE, MCN, NIPES, and NISafetyE, where he combines innovation with leadership and service.
Oladepo’s interests span across Automatic Control, Intelligent Systems, IoT, and Embedded Systems, showing his passion for solving real-world problems through technology.
