A brilliant 16-year-old girl named Owoeye Jesudunsin has achieved remarkable academic success after emerging as the overall highest scorer in Nigeria’s 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring an outstanding 372 out of 400.
Her achievement has drawn national attention and stands as a reflection of brilliance, discipline, and strategic preparation.
Jesudunsin's Story and How She Did It
Jesudunsin, a student of EFVP Wisdom Spring Model School, emerged as the top-performing candidate in the 2026 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
Her exceptional performance was officially announced during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja. Jesudunsin scored 98 in English, 98 in Chemistry, 94 in Physics, and 82 in Biology, giving her a total aggregate score of 372 out of 400.

“A lot of you have been asking about my study routine, but here’s the truth: I didn’t study 24 hours a day. I didn’t just study hard, I was smart with it. I made past questions my best friend,” she shared on X.
She explained that one of the key strategies that helped her excel was identifying weak subjects early and working intentionally to improve in those areas.
“I gave every subject the attention it deserved after identifying my strengths and weaknesses. Know your weak points and attack them early,” she advised.
Celebrating the milestone, Jesudunsin expressed gratitude to God for the success and acknowledged the demanding preparation process behind the achievement.
“To God be all the glory! I’m excited to share that I emerged as Nigeria’s 2026 JAMB highest scorer with an aggregate score of 372/400,” she said.
“This achievement did not come easily. The preparation process was quite demanding and challenging, but by the grace of God, my efforts eventually paid off,” she added.
Her accomplishment also earned recognition from the Ekiti State Government, which congratulated her publicly and described her result as proof that determination and focus can lead to excellence.
In a statement shared online, the government praised her performance, saying: “Brilliance shines brightest when determination meets opportunity. Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin, an indigene of Ekiti State, has made history by scoring 372 out of 400 in UTME 2026, the highest nationwide.”
The statement added that her success reflects the resilience, ambition, and potential of young Nigerians.
Looking ahead, Jesudunsin hopes to continue her academic journey by gaining admission into University of Lagos to study Medicine and Surgery.
