AMERICA | American rapper and actress Mia Young, known by the stage name Mia X, has been honored with an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Humanitarianism and a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
She earned the awards in recognition of her contributions to philanthropy and community service.
The prestigious award, signed by former U.S. President Joe Biden, acknowledges her dedication to humanitarian efforts and the positive impact she has made in her community.
Sharing her achievement on Instagram, Mia X posted a photo of herself in a cap and gown, expressing deep gratitude. “I pray my parents and grandparents are proud and smiling from heaven,” she wrote.

After Mia graduated from high school, she briefly attended Delgado Community College, Louisiana before she dropped out to pursue a music career. She recorded early success in the beginning of her career and has been active for over two decades
Beyond her success in the music industry, she has become a passionate advocate for charitable causes, using her platform to uplift and support those in need.
However’s Mia’s journey has not been without challenges. In the 2010s, she battled uterine cancer and experienced complications during surgery, leaving her with 73% vision in one eye.
Also in early 1999, Mia went on hiatus from recording following the deaths of fourteen family members, including both her parents
Despite these hardships, she has remained resilient, continuing to inspire others through both her music and humanitarian work.
