In line with its internationalisation strategies aimed at supporting talented students from other universities within the European Higher Education Area, the University of Milan has established 30 merit-based scholarships worth €10,000 each, to be awarded to students from an EU country enrolled in Master’s degree programmes.
The University of Milan has announced the opening of its European Futures Scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year, targeting high-performing EU-based graduates seeking master’s study in Italy.
With a capped cohort and a structured ambassador role, the scheme positions itself as both a funding package and a visibility platform within the European Education Area.

Eligibility Requirements for European Futures Scholarship 2026
To be considered for the European Futures Scholarship, you must:
- be a new student applying for a postgraduate degree starting in September 2026 or January 2027
- be classified as an international fee payer
- hold nationality from an EU country
- high-achieving EU-based graduates targeting specialized master’s degrees in Italy
- demonstrate both academic excellence and engagement in European-level activities.
NB: Candidates with strong transcripts, international exposure, and a clear narrative about contributing to the European Education Area will be more competitive.
