Dr Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is one of Africa’s leading writers who has set several records in literature. She started her higher academic education by studying Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Nigeria but later moved to the United States at the age of 19.
In the United States, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Political science from the Eastern Connecticut State University in Connecticut, United States. She proceeded to earn a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr Adichie also holds multiple Master’s degrees including a Master of Arts degree in African studies from Yale University and in Creative Writing. Her certifications and work – which included authoring several novels and short stories – have awarded her several accolades across the world.

holds sixteen honorary doctorate degrees from some of the world’s best universities, including Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Edinburgh, Duke University, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, and the Catholic University of Louvain, where she got her sixteenth on 28 April 2022, per Wikipedia.

Celebrating the Nigeria-American scholar on her 45th birthday, Nigerian Billionaire, Folorunso Alakija thanked her for telling “so many beautiful African stories to the world”. Adichie also took to her Instagram handle to share a throwback picture of herself celebrating her birthday 29 years ago.
Recently, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala met with the awarding-winning author, Chimamanda Adichie, at an event in Europe to discuss the future of globalization, supply chain vulnerabilities and the role of Europe in free and fair trade.
She said it was wonderful to catch up with her talented and creative younger sister, while describing Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
