Nigerian lady abandons study in 300 level to starts afresh, graduates as a Lawyer with double first class grade

A determined Nigerian lady named Aderonke Gboroye has achieved remarkable success as a double first-class lawyer. However, the journey to her success came with challenges and setbacks.

Aderonke’s journey started in Cotonou, Republic of Benin, where she began her LL.B degree at the West African Union University. For the first few years, everything seemed on track, but by the 300 level, the tide suddenly shifted.

A new policy was introduced in Nigeria that anyone who graduates from Benin would no longer be admitted into the Nigerian Law School. That moment changed everything.

Confused, uncertain, and emotionally drained, Aderonke found herself facing a future that no longer looked anything like the one she had worked so hard for.

Depression crept in, but she was determined to bounce back. She started searching for new opportunities—in Nigeria, in Ghana—anywhere that would give her a chance to continue chasing her dream.

In 2018, she made a bold decision. She left Benin behind and got admitted into Achievers University in Nigeria. The law programme was new at the time, and she had to start over with the pioneer set, repeating several courses.

It was frustrating, but she chose to keep going. Her perseverance, determination, and resilience paid off.

Aderonke eventually graduated with First Class Honours and was named the Best Graduating Student from the College of Law at Achievers University, Owo. Maintaining that academic excellence, she went on to earn another First Class in her Nigerian Law School Bar Final Exams.

Now, while she awaits her official call to the Bar, Aderonke reflects on how far she has come. Every moment of pain, every sleepless night, every prayer whispered into the dark was not wasted.

Aderonke is full of gratitude for God’s grace, for her family, her lecturers, and the friends who stood by her when things were hard.

To anyone going through a delay, feeling stuck or disheartened, Aderonke shared that their journey is still valid.” I hope my story reminds you that your journey is still valid. It’s okay to cry sometimes. Just keep going. God is not done with you yet,” she said.
