AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian lady named Bada Esther Adesola has earned a Bachelor of Education (B.A. Ed) in Early Childhood Education from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Her outstanding performance made her the best graduating student in her class. In addition to this academic feat, Adesola was also inducted as a certified and licensed teacher by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Reflecting on her journey, Adesola shared that she did not always see herself on this path. When she first gained admission through the JAMB CAPS platform and saw that she had been offered Early Childhood Education, she was disappointed.
It was not the course she had initially hoped for, and for days, she struggled to accept the offer. The subject felt unfamiliar and, to her, unimportant.

But with the support and encouragement of her mother, she decided to take a chance and begin the journey, hoping she might change courses after her first year.
However, once she began attending lectures and engaging with the curriculum, her perspective shifted. She started to see the value and purpose in Early Childhood Education and her first semester results confirmed she had made the right decision.
As she continued her studies, her interest deepened. She came to understand that Early Childhood Education was not just about teaching children letters and numbers—it was about laying the foundation for a child’s entire life.
She learned how educators in the field support not only cognitive development but also the emotional and social well-being of young children during their most formative years.
Years later, Adesola, the girl who once doubted her admission proudly walked the stage as the top of her class, fully licensed and passionate about the profession she once knew little about. Looking back, Adesola said it’s amazing how much her perspective has changed.
She credited her success to the grace and love of God, who guided her every step of the way. She also expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported her growth at the University of Lagos, saying the journey had shaped her into the educator she is today—ready to inspire and nurture young minds for a brighter future.
