AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian Lady named Faith Swiss-Ajiboye has bagged a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA from Loughborough University, England, in the United Kingdom.
She dedicated the achievement to her late mother, stating that it is the result of all her sacrifices. Faith’s journey is a powerful testimony of resilience, sacrifice, and rebuilding from broken foundations.
Faith's Story and How She Did It
Born and raised in Nigeria, Faith began her academic journey at the University of Benin, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Those early years were marked by hardship.
Raised by a single mother, Faith experienced firsthand the realities many children silently endure, studying on an empty stomach, being sent home from school due to unpaid fees, and relying on the kindness of friends to complete her undergraduate education when funds ran out.
Yet, those challenges did not define her limits. Instead, they shaped her determination.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Faith deliberately built her professional foundation, gaining hands-on experience across finance, accounting, investment banking, and project leadership.
Over time, she distinguished herself as a Project and Finance Leader, managing £20 million+ in financial activities, overseeing payroll and reconciliations across 35+ sites, and delivering projects with over 95% on-time completion.
Driven by a desire to scale her impact and deepen her leadership capacity, Faith took the next bold step in 2023—she enrolled for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Loughborough University Business School, United Kingdom, one of the UK’s leading institutions.
While pursuing her MBA, Faith balanced multiple responsibilities, including raising her two children, leading cross-functional projects, and expanding her professional expertise.
She further strengthened her academic profile by earning a Certificate in Advanced Management from the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow.
In 2025, Faith successfully completed her MBA, marking the culmination of a journey that began in scarcity and ended in global academic achievement. But for Faith, this milestone carried a deeper meaning.
Sharing her achievement on LinkedIn, she dedicated the degree entirely to her late mother, whose sacrifices laid the foundation for everything she has become. She wrote;
“Dear Mum… this is dedicated entirely to you and to everyone who shares our story—
children raised by single mothers, children who studied on empty stomachs, children sent home from school due to unpaid fees, and those who finished university only because friends stepped in when money ran out.”
She reflected on the biblical question, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” and answered it with her life: rebuild.
Her mother’s enduring lesson—“It will end up either a ‘Yes’ or a ‘No’”—became Faith’s compass. Saying “Yes” to Loughborough University, she watched the institution say “Yes” back to her, validating years of perseverance.
Faith expressed the pain of wishing her mother were present to witness her walk across the graduation stage, acknowledging that every sacrifice made in remote Africa was not in vain.
As she moves forward, she has committed to honoring her mother’s legacy by living out the words of Loughborough’s Vice-Chancellor—to be kind, human, helpful, and to create paths for others.
