A brilliant Nigerian Lady named Deborah Kadejo has earned a first-class degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria, despite completing her program in six years instead of the standard four.
Her dedication and perseverance were further recognized when she received the Best Graduating Student Award in one of her major courses.
Sharing her achievement on Instagram, Deborah celebrated her success: “Waited six years to turn the tassel to the left.” She emerged as the Co-Best Graduating Economics Student in Accounting/Business Administration, and Banking & Finance.

While excelling academically, Deborah also demonstrated strong leadership skills and an active commitment to extracurricular activities.
She served as the Public Relations Officer and Academic Mentor at the Nigerian Economics Students’ Association, University of Ibadan. Additionally, she was a member of the Student Finance Club and AIESEC in Ibadan.
Notably, Deborah co-organized the first physical conference of the Student Finance Club since its inception in 2015. The event, which welcomed 320 participants, showcased her organizational skills and passion for impactful initiatives.
Deborah shared her passion on LinkedIn and reflected on her academic journey so far. “One thing I am sure of is that I will always make an impact wherever I am. I leave no room for mediocrity in my work,” she said.
”I am passionate about finance—particularly investment banking—and entrepreneurship, and I love engaging in insightful conversations surrounding these topics,” she added.
Deborah is determined to pursue a career in investment banking while actively developing her research skills.
Her personal mantra reflects her drive for excellence: “To live making an impact and inspire my circle to be the best they can be. Excellence, integrity, teamwork, and service are qualities I strive to reflect in my work.”
