AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian lady named Morenike Oyeleke has achieved outstanding success, passing her law school bar exams with a remarkable first-class grade.
Morenike began her legal studies at the University of Lagos, earning her Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree in 2024 with a second-class upper grade, after which she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School.
In Nigeria, any student who has obtained a university degree in law and wants to practice as a lawyer in Nigeria must attend the Nigerian Law School, where they will be given a certificate after they have passed their bar exams.
At the Nigerian Law School, Morenike maintained her academic excellence, focusing more on her studies, surpassing her performance during her undergraduate studies, and she passed excellently.

In a LinkedIn post, Morenike said this phase of her life came with its twists and turns. Reflecting on her academic path, she described it as one filled with intense hard work, long nights, unanswered prayers, sad memories, and beautiful ones too.
Starting this journey felt simple at first, but continuing with consistency and grit was one of the most challenging things she ever had to do.
Despite the hurdles, she pressed on. At UNILAG, she was among the top 5% of her class of over 400 students. Though she felt proud of her achievement, Morenike did not relent in her pursuit of excellence.
Law school was a whole new test of strength. She recalled the sleepless nights, the pressure to meet expectations, and the quiet voice that often whispered fears into her ears—that maybe, just maybe, a first-class was not within reach. But through the uncertainty, she kept going.
Morenike shared that she owes her growth to the incredible people who stood by her. She expressed gratitude to Mr. Femi Gbede, who gave her the opportunity to become a Femi Gbede Scholar in 2023.
She also thanked every mentor, friend, and supporter who believed in her when things were hard. Morenike said her experience at the Nigerian Law School is one that will stay with her forever.
“I’ve had my ups and downs in life, and I’m grateful to finally say with so much confidence that I am a First-Class Lawyer,” she said.
Looking ahead, Morenike believes that every phase of life comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities, and with each one, she is ready for growth, to evolve, and become a better version of herself.
