AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian lawyer named Blessing Obiwuma, has achieved outstanding academic success by earning a Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law with distinction from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom.
In 2019, Blessing graduated from Abia State University, Nigeria with a second-class upper degree in Law. She then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, where she completed her legal training and was called to the Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Driven by her passion for legal excellence, Blessing set her sights on furthering her education abroad. Fortunately, in 2023, she was awarded the prestigious Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship.
The NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship is a fully funded award covering the full fees of tuition, flight, visa, accommodation, and living expenses for all selected candidates.

A year later, in 2024, she graduated from the University of Dundee, earning her master’s degree with distinction. Celebrating her achievement on Linkedin, Blessing expressed gratitude to the NDDC for providing the opportunity to pursue her academic goals.
She also acknowledged the unwavering support of her lecturers, mentors, colleagues, family, and friends, who played a vital role in her success.
Blessing admitted that the academic journey was both challenging and rewarding, but it strengthened her commitment to excellence in the legal profession.
As she looks forward to the official conferment of her degree, she is excited about the next chapter of her career and the new opportunities that lie ahead.
