A brilliant Nigerian Lawyer named Jeremiah Aderinto has bagged a master’s degree with distinctions at Westminster University in the United Kingdom. He took to his LinkedIn to share his achievement of earning the degree.
Jeremiah, a Nigerian Lawyer obtained his Master of Law (LLM) in International Commercial Law with a focus on international arbitration at Westminster University, England in the United Kingdom.
He began his academic journey at Obafemi Awolowo University, Southwest Nigeria where he obtained a Bachelor of Law. After which he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he was called to bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Court of Nigeria.

Jeremiah said his academic journey abroad was both challenging and rewarding, deepening his understanding of complex legal frameworks in the global arena.
He said his dissertation explored the intricacies of “Sovereign Debts Arising from Investor-State Arbitration Disputes: Challenges in Execution, Legal Implications, and Recent Developments”.
He stated that the research delved into the legal complexities surrounding sovereign debt enforcement, the evolving landscape of investor-state arbitration, and the broader implications for international law.
Additionally, Jeremiah said it highlights how the defense of sovereign immunity poses a challenge for investors from obtaining the benefits of awards made in their favor and creates an uneven investment relationship between foreign investors and host states.
He expressed his gratitude to his parents, professors especially his supervisor, peers, and everyone who supported him throughout this journey.
Jeremiah said he is looking forward to applying this knowledge to make meaningful contributions to the field of international commercial law and the international arbitration community.
