Nigerian man, Akinlamilo Adeyemi bags first-class degree at EKSU, wins best student award

A brilliant Nigerian man named  Akinlamilo Adeyemi has obtained a bachelor’s degree with first-class honors at the Ekiti State University Nigeria and was awarded the best-graduating student of his department.

Adeyemi obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and Biotechnology with remarkable first-class honors at Ekiti State University Nigeria. He took to LinkedIn to celebrate the success of earning the degree.

”Thrilled to join Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. First Class Honors list! I’m overjoyed to share that I’ve graduated with First Class Honors at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria,” he said

He stated that reaching the milestone would not have been possible without expressing his gratitude to God who was the source of his strength and guidance during the academic journey.

Adeyemi earned the degree with a 4.64 over a possible 5.00 cumulative grade point and was the best-graduating student of Ekiti State University’s Department of Biosciences.

He obtained an excellent grade despite being involved in other activities at the university. Adeyemi was a Campus Christian Leader, and a Research Project Leader, who oversaw research initiatives by coordinating tasks, managing budgets, and presenting findings.

He also led academic support sessions, helped students understand complex topics, provided feedback on assignments, and collaborated with faculty to align tutorials with course objectives. 


Adeyemi said each role played a crucial part in fostering community engagement, academic excellence, and personal development while he was at the university. 

Proficient in the fields of laboratory science, molecular biology, biotechnology, and computational biology, Adeyemi’s research focused on vaccine development, gene therapy, and clinical diagnosis of infectious diseases, as well as the characterization and classification of infectious bio-agents.

Adeyemi expressed his gratitude to his parents, stating they are the foundation of his present being, and the moral compass they instilled in him has been invaluable which he is grateful and feels indebted for.

He thanked all the teachers and lecturers who have influenced his education, from primary school to secondary school and university. Adeyemi also extended his appreciation to his supervisor, pastor, as well as several of his lecturers and professors for their significant contributions and impact.

He stated that he is grateful to the DLCF Pathfinder Chapter, and EKSU family, for their belief in him adding that their words of encouragement have been a constant source of motivation throughout his academic journey.

Adeyemi is also the Founder and CEO of Gr8t Words Biotek Institute, which is dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of researchers in the biological and biomedical sciences.
