He also excelled in his major courses, earning the title of best-graduating student in Macroeconomics Theory.
Reflecting on his academic journey, Olushola shared that after graduating from secondary school, he watched many of his peers gain admission into various universities, while his dream was to attend Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife.
He faced mockery, belittlement, and a loss of self-confidence during this time, which almost caused him to give up on his aspirations. However, his mother and friends provided unwavering encouragement that kept him motivated.
When Olushola finally gained admission to Obafemi Awolowo University, he worked hard to balance his academics with part-time jobs to make ends meet.
He received scholarships, served as a course representative, volunteered for his faculty conference, and was elected General Secretary in his final year, all while building strong friendships.
Throughout his studies, Olushola faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent academic union strikes, which left him feeling disoriented and isolated.
Despite growing up in a limited environment and lacking mentors or a strong network, he received steadfast support from his mother, family, and friends.
Olushola hopes that his story will inspire others who feel life is unfair to them. He encourages them to view life as a process, to keep pushing forward, and to never give up, assuring them that they will eventually reach the top.
