In a LinkedIn post, Oladimeji expressed gratitude for his journey and shared how his undergraduate experience provided a strong foundation to merge science with craft and theory with practice.
Reflecting on his achievement, he described it as a dream come true. Remarkably, his master’s supervisor had been on his list of favorite researchers since 2023, a time when financial constraints made graduate studies seem unattainable.
Oladimeji’s breakthrough came in 2023 when he won The Michael Taiwo Scholarships, which enabled him to take the GRE exam in 2024. Through persistence, he cold-emailed his future supervisor and successfully secured the opportunity.
He credits his success to his supervisors, mentors, Michael Taiwo, Ph.D., and his family and friends, whose support made his transition smoother. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but welcomed them with optimism, expressing confidence in making his next phase both interesting and impactful.
To aspiring scholars, Oladimeji shared valuable advice: “Focus on each step while keeping the future in mind. That way, the future won’t scare you.” He echoed the words of Michael Taiwo, Ph.D., from the #MTDreamLounge, emphasizing that courage and resilience are key to overcoming challenges.
As Oladimeji embarks on this new chapter, he looks forward to conducting groundbreaking research and becoming the engineer the world needs. Cheers to his continued success and contributions to global innovation!
