A young Nigerian man named Stephen Emmanuel has celebrated a remarkable academic achievement by earning a Mathematics degree with an outstanding 4.84 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
His achievement comes ten years after completing high school, marking the end of a long and challenging academic journey.
Sharing his joy on LinkedIn, Stephen reflected on the hurdles he overcame. “Almost 10 years after secondary school, I’ve finally earned my first degree—and in style,” he said.

Stephen graduated as the best student in his department, achieving a perfect 5.00 grade point average in four semesters and five overall during his studies.
Despite facing delays along the way, he maintained exceptional academic performance while simultaneously building a successful career in software engineering.
“All this while building my software career and working on projects for multinationals,” Stephen shared, highlighting the dual focus of his academic and professional endeavors.
