Nigerian musician, Davido announces N250m grants to support Nigerians without parents

A popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has announced that he will be donation a sum of N250 million to support the growth and development of orphans in Nigeria.

Orphans are persons or individuals whose parents have died, are unknown, or have permanently abandoned them. Usually orphans are deprived of several growth standards including education, good feeding and shelter, prompting the establishment of orphanages where people with these scenarios are taken care of.

According to the musician, he will will be giving out a sum of N250 million (about $500,000) to all Government registered orphanages in Nigeria.

Announcing the planned commencement of the grant disbursement, Davido said through his social media handles that the disbursement of the award will commence on the 29th of November 2021 and closes on the 2nd of December 2021.

Davido had created a a five-person Disbursement Committee including Mrs. Titi Adebayo, chairman of the committee; Professor Jonathan Nwosu, secretary to the committee; Professor Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigeria Seventh Day Adventist Union Conference; Pastor Oyalabu of Spring Time Development Foundation (SDF); and Professor Uloma Onuoha.
