2024 NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship (NNPC/SPDC/TotalEnergies/NAOC) | Step-by-Step Process

NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and enhance the employability of young Nigerians through its annual financial support.

On a yearly basis, selected applicants for the NNPC/Shell Scholarship will receive an annual reward of N200,000 till the year of their graduation.

NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship Details:

The Shell Petroleum Development Company in partnership with other oil companies (NNPC/SPDC /TEPNG/AGIP Joint Venture) invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerian Students admitted into Full Time academic studies in the 2022/2023 session, to apply for its University Scholarship Scheme.

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited offers the scholarship in pursuance of its Social Investment programme in Education.

This merit-based scholarship is in two categories – the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award.

  • National Merit Award (NM) – Open to all Nigerians.
  • Areas of Operation Merit Award – Open to Nigerians who are indigenes of SPDC’s operational areas in Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States.

NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship Requirements:

To be considered for the 2024 NNPC/Shell Scholarship, you must:

  • Must be citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
  • Must be registered FULL TIME undergraduates in an accredited and approved University in Nigeria
  • Must be in 200 Level or possess proof of admission into Undergraduate programme in the 2022/2023 academic session
  • Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship from an entity operating in the Oil and Gas Industry, National or International

  • The Scholarship period will run throughout the program years provided certain conditions are met. 
  • Winners will be given 200,000 Naira Annually

Required Documents for NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

  • Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px)     
  • School ID card
  • University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission letter
  • JAMB Result   
  • Letter of Identification from State (Showing Local Government of Origin).
  •  Applicants for the Operational Area Awards are required to provide scanned copies of letters of identification, (which must be duly stamped and signed) by:
    1. The Paramount Ruler of the Community; and
    2. The Chairman of the Community Development Committee or Community Executive Council (CDC or CEC)
  • The letters should be addressed to: The Manager, Social Performance, The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (Shell), Shell Industrial Area, Port Harcourt, Rivers-State.

How To Apply for NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship (Step-by-Step)

To apply for the NNPC/Shell Petroleum Scholarship, interested and qualified applicants should;

  • Click on the button below to visit the scholarship webpage
  • On the top right corner of the page, click on “Apply Now” tab. 
  • Click on “Register Now” to create an account. 
  • Proceed to your email box to activate your account 
  • Enter your personal information, National Identification Number, educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents. 
  • Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise. 
  • Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to ensure that they are clear and accurate. 
  • When asked to upload photo, upload a passport photograph with a white background. 
  • Recheck application information to avoid errors 
  • Click “Apply Now” to submit information 
  • You will receive an email and a SMS that confirms your application was successful. 
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the proctored computer-based test.
  • Only successful candidates at each selection stage will be contacted. 
  • Applications must be processed ONLY through the Shell Nigeria website.
